Julia is a multi-faceted performer who began her dance journey at age 2 in her local dance studio in Whitby, Ontario and has been hooked ever since. She has studied various genres such as tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, modern, musical theatre, song and dance, and partnering.

Upon getting more heavily involved in the tap dance community, she has had the opportunity to train and perform with Toronto Rhythm Initiative, the Tap Dance Centre, the Canadian National Tap Team, Rhythm & Sound Productions, and Dusk Dances. She has participated in the International Tap Dance Festival’s tap dance residency under the direction of Allison Toffan, Tanya Knights and Broadway choreographer, Ted Louis Levy, where she worked closely with the Toronto Jazz Orchestra. She has trained with tap master Heather Cornell, studying the techniques and choreography of historic tap dance pioneers that emphasise rhythm tap dancing and collaboration. More recently, Julia has become a choreographer for the Lightning Elite Performance Team, choreographing shows for dancers across North America to perform in Disneyland and Disney World Parks.

Julia teaches, choreographs, and adjudicates across Canada in all genres of dance with an emphasis on inclusive classrooms and accessible dance education. She is a graduate of the prestigious Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance Program at Sheridan College, majoring in commercial performance. While there, she extensively trained in singing, dancing and acting under North America’s top music theatre artists and professors.

Julia then expanded her love of teaching and attended Queen’s University’s Bachelor of Education program with a concentration in Artist in Community Education. She is now a certified OCT teacher working in the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and bringing her passion for the arts, arts education, and inclusive practices to the classroom daily.
