KSD Fall NEWS

Hello KSD Families and friends,

As the leaves slowly turn color and the back to school rush subsides we take time to enjoy warmth and hospitality with our loved ones and of course DANCE!! We have had an exciting start to the new term with brand new programs, new teachers and office manager, a performance company, on-line dance wear boutique and inspiring workshops.

Please remember that the studio will be closed this weekend for Thanksgiving! Enjoy time off with your family and friends! We wish you a happy memorable holiday!

Some of our senior dancers and teachers performed for the Gord Downie Life and Legacy Event on September 28th which helped raise over $10,000 for Home Based Housing and the Downie Wenjack Fund. Culture Days was a success as well with our Artist in Residence Kay Kenney who gave open workshops for our community. Some of our Hip hop, lyrical, ballet and contemporary dancers are working hard to present a great show at our upcoming performance at the Leon Center on November 1st.

Many of our ballet students attended auditions for the RWB production of the Nutcracker and Wizard of Oz on October 6th. We are very proud of them!

Acclaimed Canadian choreographer Shawn Hounsell will be here on October 26th as well as the 16th of November to teach Master workshops in ballet, contemporary and pas de deux, we are thrilled to have him!

Kingston School of Dance embroidered jackets are now available on our website e-boutique. Pre-Order is only open until OCTOBER 31st so order now! https://ksd.johnnybrown.ca/en/ourcollections/items_with_logo

One again we invite students to get into the Halloween spirit as students are welcome to dance in their costumes from Saturday October 26th until October 30th. We will be closed on the 31st, Happy trick or treating everyone!

Ebon Gage is back in the studio on Tuesday nights with pianist Scott Davies and his adult ballet class is always packed. We are thankful; for your support and enthusiasm for dance.

We are currently looking for volunteers for a sewing committee to help us reduce costume costs this year! If you are interested in sharing your creativity and skills send us an email at ksd@kingstonschoolofdance.ca and we will provide you with more information.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are looking forward to a fun-filled term!

Sincerely,
Andrea Palmer
