The Aspirant Dancer Program (ADP)

The Kingston School of Dance is excited to bring The Aspirant Dancer Program to the studio in the fall of 2019!

This program will re-affirm KSD as the place to be for the highest quality and standards in the art of dance in our city.

The program will meet the demand for artistic development within our community, offering dance education for all levels and skills from beginner to pre-professional.

The goal?

Building confidence and life skills in a safe and supportive environment and helping our students to succeed in dance (and all areas of life) for the future.

Students in the ADP program will:

  • partake in a minimum of 2 ballet and 1 contemporary class per week. Elective classes are also available such as: jazz, repertoire, pointe and conditioning.

  • receive package pricing deal

  • be prepared for exams and evaluations

  • receive regular progress reports and meetings

  • participate in master workshops and placement in Kingston Youth Dance Ensemble (KSD’s new semi-professional dance company)

The first year of the program will be open to all. The second year, the program will be offered after evaluation and recommendation. This program will ensure that our students reach their individual maximum potential driven by the mission to strengthen the city’s ballet community and to allow the possibility for our aspiring young dancers to move beyond the limits of our city into the Canadian professional dance milieu.

Mini ADP Program for dancers aged 7-9 (minimum 2 years previous dance training).

Junior ADP Program for dancers aged 10-12 (minimum 3 years previous dance training).
