As a non-profit registered charity, The Kingston School of Dance welcomes and appreciates student volunteers for many areas of our organization.
Since 1999, all students in Ontario secondary schools are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement in order to receive a diploma. The purpose of this requirement is to encourage students to develop an understanding of the various roles they can play in their community. Currently, students are able to start accumulating community involvement hours in the summer before they enter grade 9.
The purpose of the requirement is to:
- to foster an understanding of civic responsibility;
- to develop a student’s sense of worth as they play a role in their community;
- and to help young people develop their skills.
Please contact the office for more information if you are interested in volunteering at the Kingston School of Dance.
